Studied in human trials for its role as an interceptor molecule: binding certain dietary mutagens in the gut before the body absorbs them. In a landmark randomized, placebo-controlled trial, participants taking chlorophyllin with meals showed a 55% reduction in a key aflatoxin–DNA damage biomarker.
