Quality & laboratory testing

Ownmor Biophyll is sent for laboratory analysis at regular intervals. This page states what was tested, where, and when, and nothing more than the laboratory reports show.

The laboratory

Testing is carried out by Varni Analytical LLP, Thane, Maharashtra: an ISO/IEC 17025:2017, NABL-accredited laboratory (also ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certified, and AGMARK approved).

What is tested

Microbiological
E. coli, Salmonella, Staphylococcus aureus, total plate count, yeast and mould count
Physical / foreign matter
Fungus spot, insects and insect fragments, rodent contamination, non-edible matter
Chemical
Moisture, peroxide value

In each round, the laboratory states that the sample passes the parameters tested against the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 and Rules, 2011 (Table 10, microbiological standards for health supplements and nutraceuticals).

The next analysis is scheduled when a new batch is produced. The laboratory reports are confidential company documents and are not published; they are available to regulators and authorised bodies on request.
